Welcome

# Hello, and Welcome

If you've found your way here, welcome — I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly.

I'm Leo Weston. I write cosy mysteries and warm-hearted contemporary fiction, and this is where I'll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes bits from the writing process, and probably far too many opinions about the correct order to read a cosy mystery series in.

So far I've published one book: *A Body in the Green Room*, the first in my Thomas & Minty Mysteries series — with more on the way.

**Why cosy mystery?**

I've always loved the genre for what it *doesn't* do as much as what it does. No graphic violence, no despair for despair's sake — just a good puzzle, a strong cup of tea, and the quiet satisfaction of watching justice sort itself out in a village hall. When I sat down to write *A Body in the Green Room*, I wanted to build a world readers could sink into: a fictional Cheshire village called Swanlow, a cast of characters who feel like people you already know, and a mystery fair enough that you might just solve it before Thomas and Minty do.

**Meet Thomas and Minty**

*A Body in the Green Room* is set in Swanlow, a fictional village in Cheshire where — as it turns out — murder is rather more common than the tourist board would like.

Thomas McInally runs the local bookshop and notices everything — sometimes to his own detriment. Minty Choice performs drag bingo at the Feathers on Thursdays and has never met a mystery she didn't want to get to the bottom of. Together, they're an unlikely but (I hope) thoroughly enjoyable detective duo.

**What's next**

Book two, set at a rather chaotic sci-fi convention, is already taking shape. I'll be sharing updates here as it develops, along with the odd bit of behind-the-scenes chaos from the writing process.

If you'd like to be first to know when new books, short stories, and updates land, you can sign up to my mailing list [here] — you'll also get a free short story about how Thomas and Minty first met.

Thanks for stopping by. More soon.
